Robotic Palletising Systems
Robotic palletising systems for Australian manufacturers.

Foodmach designs, manufactures and integrates robotic palletising systems for food, beverage, FMCG and industrial manufacturers across Australia and New Zealand.

From compact robot cells to high-speed Robomatrix® systems, we match the palletising technology to your products, production rates and available space. Our in-house engineering team takes responsibility for integrating it into your line, with local support throughout its working life.

Which robotic palletising system suits your production?

Case dimensions, packaging strength and product weight all affect how products can be handled. Line speeds, pallet patterns and changeover requirements determine how the system needs to operate.

We assess those requirements alongside your factory layout and plans for growth. Whether you’re replacing manual stacking or bringing several production lines into one centralised palletising area, we’ll help you select the appropriate configuration.

Compact and pick-and-place palletising

Automate repetitive lifting with a robot that picks products from an infeed conveyor and places them into a programmed pallet pattern.

Foodmach’s Pick & Place and Instant Palletiser options suit applications where footprint, flexibility and capital cost are key considerations.

Industrial robot and cobot configurations are available, with tooling selected for the products being handled.

High-speed robotic palletising

Keep pace with demanding production lines using Robomatrix® robotic pattern forming.

Robots orientate and position packs into the required layer pattern before the completed layer is transferred onto the pallet. This combines robotic handling flexibility with the capacity of a layer palletising system.

For smaller pack formats at high production rates, Robomatrix® Dual Infeed uses two infeed lanes and coordinated robots to accelerate pattern formation.

Multi-line and multi-SKU palletising

Palletise different products to different locations simultaneously.

Robomatrix® Multi-SKU supports manufacturers handling a growing range of pack formats across multiple production lines. Its modular design allows additional palletisers to share inbound and outbound pallet handling as requirements expand.

Product changes should be manageable

New packaging formats bring new pallet patterns. Your team needs a practical way to introduce them.

Foodmach’s proprietary Robowizard® software gives operators a visual, drag-and-drop interface for creating and adjusting pallet patterns on compatible Robomatrix® systems. Routine pattern changes can be managed without bringing in a PLC programmer.

Our palletising range accommodates cartons, trays, multipacks and shrink-wrapped packs, with handling methods selected to suit each application. We consider pack stability and product protection alongside production speed.

Integrated from product infeed to finished pallet

A palletiser depends on a consistent supply of products and an effective way to move completed pallets away.

Foodmach designs the surrounding system as part of the solution. Depending on your requirements, this can include product accumulation and conveying, pallet handling, stretch wrapping and pallet labelling.

Our controls engineers coordinate these operations with upstream equipment and line management systems. We integrate Foodmach equipment with machinery from other suppliers, giving you one point of responsibility for the agreed project scope.

For existing factories, that means working with the equipment and space you already have. For new lines, it means planning palletising into the production flow from the outset.

Robotic palletising in practice

Nuttelex: multiple products across two lines

Foodmach developed a Robomatrix® Multi-SKU configuration for Nuttelex to handle two production lines with 15 SKUs between them.

The system enables simultaneous palletising to different locations, with Robowizard® supporting changes to product formats and pallet patterns. Its modular arrangement provides scope to add palletising capacity while sharing pallet handling infrastructure.

Asahi: high-speed palletising for smaller packs

Robomatrix® Dual Infeed addresses the challenge of palletising more individual packs per layer as beverage formats become smaller.

Used at Asahi’s Tullamarine plant, the system combines two infeed lanes with robotic pattern forming. Robomatrix® Dual Infeed won the Australian Machinery Manufacturer Award – Corporate at the 2024 APPMA Awards of Excellence.

Your robotic palletising questions

Can one system handle several production lines?

Yes. Multi-line systems can receive products from several lines and palletise them to designated locations. The configuration depends on combined throughput, product mix, accumulation requirements and available space.

How fast can a robotic palletiser operate?
Capacity depends on the complete application: product dimensions and weight, the number of products picked per cycle, pallet pattern and pallet exchange arrangements. We assess performance against your actual product mix and required production rates.

Can robotic palletising be added to an existing line?
Yes. Foodmach can integrate palletising with existing conveyors, packaging equipment and controls. We assess the interfaces and installation requirements during system design.

Is a cobot or industrial robot the better choice?
That depends on payload, required speed, reach and how people need to access the area. We assess the complete application, including its safety requirements, before recommending a configuration.

Can the system accommodate future products?
We design around your current products and anticipated changes. Robowizard® provides pattern flexibility on compatible systems, while tooling, payload and equipment dimensions determine the physical range of products that can be handled.

'Foodmach faced the challenge to design a palletising system based on Robomatrix technology to handle up to eight product lines. The final solution gives us greater capacity in the same floor plan, reduces maintenance and operational complexity and provides the flexibility of programming new pallet patterns very easily.'
